Day 1: kayaking
Morning: Arrival in San Cristobal.
Our staff picks you up and takes you to the hotel for check in.
LUNCH: enjoy fine cuisine at a local oceanfront restaurant
Afternoon activity: walk to the beautiful Playa Mann beach for an easy kayak trip to Tijeretas Bay (Frigate bird hill). During the trip we will spot sea lions, frigate birds, and other unique Galapagos animals.
Evening: Transfer from the beach back to the hotel

Day 2: Biking in the highlands
Morning: Around 8 we depart for the highlands
Morning activity: trip to the highland for a visit to the “Galapaguera,” a semi-natural preserve for the rehabilitation of the San Cristobal Giant Tortoise and to the El Junco lagoon. El Junco is one of very few perennial fresh water bodies in the Galapagos Islands and the only one found on San Cristobal. This lagoon exists in the crater of an extinct volcano.
LUNCH: on a local farm; visit the wind turbines which provide clean and renewable energy for the island.
Afternoon activity: We will then bike downhill back to port. Along the way, we’ll stop at the La Loberia beach to swim and snorkel. This is an easy beach to try out your snorkel gear and for beginners to receive an introductory class.

Day 3: full-day snorkel
After breakfast we walk to the Interpretation Centre where we can learn more about the human and natural history of the islands.
Afterwards we depart and travel by boat to Isla Lobos (Sea Lion Island). Here, we will snorkel with sea lions, iguanas, and maybe even blue-footed boobies!
From there we will travel on to Kicker Rock (or Leon Dormido) which is a remnant of a pyroclastic or palagonite cone (from volcanic activity). Here we will do a deep water snorkel and will have a chance to see the benign Galapagos sharks and perhaps sea turtles and rays.
LUNCH: a box lunch will be provided on Puerto Grande, a lovely beach hidden within a cove
Return to port (around 4 pm)

Day 4: travel to Isabela Island
Morning: Early flight to Isabela Island.
Once there our local guide will pick us up and take us to the hotel for check in.
Morning activity: an inland exploration of the largest of the Galapagos Islands. We’ll walk through the protected wetlands (this is a great opportunity for birding). From there we’ll follow a trail that takes us through small lagoons and mangroves.
LUNCH
Afternoon activity: take a short boat ride within the bay to Tintorera, a small islet named for the resident white-tip reef sharks. We will snorkel in the bay and then take a short walk across the islet. During the walk we will have a chance to see the white-tip reef sharks, marine iguanas and sea lions as well as the endemic Galapagos penguins, blue footed boobies, and frigate birds.

Day 5: volcano horse-back ride
After breakfast we head by car to the highlands.
Morning activities: We will then take an easy horse ride along the rim of the Sierra Negra volcano. This active volcano has the second largest crater in the world, we can observe active steam vents and impressive older lava flows. We’ll then dismount and take a short hike along a trail through ancient volcanic formations.
LUNCH: enjoy a boxed lunch in the shade of the Jaboncillo tree.
We’ll then horse-back ride back along the same route.
Return to port, by car, around 3 pm
Afternoon: take the afternoon to rest. You might consider visiting the “Wall of Tears,” the flamingo lagoon, or just relaxing on the beautiful white sand beach.

Day 6: travel to Santa Cruz
Take a speedboat to Santa Cruz Island. Hotel Check-In
Morning activity: we’ll visit the highlands of Santa Cruz to explore an old lava tunnel and a tortoise reserve where we’ll see the large Santa Cruz Giant Tortoises.
LUNCH
Afternoon activity: we’ll take a snorkel and birding tour in the bay of Santa Cruz in a small boat (panga).

Day 7: Day-Trip
On this day we will visit one of these remote sites (to be confirmed upon booking):
Plazas, Seymour, Floreana or Bartolome
Activities: Hike and snorkel
LUNCH: a boxed lunch will be provided

Day 8: Travel back to mainland
Morning activity: visit the Charles Darwin Research Station (home of Lonesome George)
Transfer to Baltra by bus and ferry for your flight back to the mainland |
